About This Place

Welcome to Luigi's, a charming family-run café located at 172 High St, Banstead SM7 2NZ, United Kingdom, where community spirit meets delectable food. With a special emphasis on warmth and friendliness, this café has carved out a niche for itself in the bustling heart of Banstead. As you step through the doors, you can’t help but notice the inviting atmosphere that welcomes diners of all ages. Family-friendly and open early, it's a haven for both regulars and newcomers alike.

Luigi's menu boasts an impressive selection of hot ciabatta and panini melts that are sure to tantalize your taste buds. Among their Italian classics are the Italian Melt and Chorizo Melt, both of which come highly recommended. For those seeking something heartier, the Escalope Supreme offers a generous serving of flavor that will leave you satisfied. The café’s offerings extend beyond savory delights: their pastry selection, including the Portuguese Pastel De Nata and fluffy tulip muffins, makes for a perfect pairing with a cup of their superb coffee.

Patrons like Paul Eaves appreciate the cafe's cozy ambiance and value for money, with many dishes priced at what he calls "old school" rates—nothing over the top, just good quality food that won’t break the bank. This sentiment is echoed by Kyle Harbour, who praises the speedy service and generous portion sizes that make Luigi's a favorite lunchtime spot.

As a food reviewer, I can’t help but applaud the extensive menu that Luigi's offers. The flexibility for both dining in and takeaway makes it an ideal choice for a casual meal or grabbing lunch on the go. From the legendary sandwiches, described by Retro Power Motorsport, to the delightful jackets and comforting breakfast options, there’s truly something for everyone, including options for the health-conscious.

If the bustling atmosphere makes you feel at home and their cakes and chilled drinks elevate your dining experience, it’s the outstanding quality of food that seals the deal. As Mark Atherton noted, a visit even after a busy day at the hospital turned into a culinary treat with his delightful jacket potato, showcasing the café's ability to impress at any time.

In conclusion, Luigi's is more than just a café; it’s a community gem where delicious food meets heartfelt hospitality. It invites you to not only enjoy a meal but to become part of a vibrant community. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite, a leisurely lunch with family, or a delectable dessert, Luigi’s stands as a testament to quality and tradition in Banstead.

I enjoyed my visit to this family run business. I liked the fact it is a warm and friendly place, open very early. I found the prices very reasonable having queried my bill as I thought they had undercharged me. Sadly, the narrow building design means there isn't a feeling of spaciousness and all the tables are two seaters until you pull two tables together and I doubt two adults could comfortably sit back to back on adjacent tables as they are close together. The place was clean and tidy and it has a relaxed atmosphere.

Beautiful gorgeous food with amazing hospitality and speedy services. Food is always cooked to a perfection and they have a wide selection of different dishes, ranging from sandwiches to full English breakfasts. They have a takeaway service which you can phone up for your order and you can also dine-in. They have large portions of food and very generous with their toppings. I would highly recommend going here for lunch.

We've just moved here and we regularly come here for food with the kids. And I love how friendly they are. Nothing is too much and the prices are old school prices! Not £12 + for a breakfast like every place now, they charge a fiver instead. Amazing!! This is why everyone loves them. Keep it up.

I've been eating here for years, never had a bad meal, their sandwiches are legendary and properly filled! Good coffee and great milkshakes too, if you are in the area either eat in or grab a takeaway!

Visited today with my wife after a hospital trip. Fancied a deli visit and this place is very popular from the looks of the volume of people coming out! Gave it a shot and had a jacket potato with beans, cheese and bacon (never seen this before), which was lovely and my wife had an Escalope Classique which she thought was great too and an unsurprising Italian twist. Looks like a diner, but don’t let that affect your impression, the food is excellent quality. Would certainly visit again if around this area again

Fantastic coffee stop on bike ride. As Banstead is 540ft above sea level it is great to have good coffee and a bacon roll on ciabatta. Mmmm Been coming here for years. Best bacon roll and best coffee around. £6.70 for bacon ciabatta and an Americano can’t be beaten in 2025
